Where were you born? Which is your favorite childhood memory?
I was born in France, but I’m Spanish. My favorite memory of my childhood is when I was able to raise the money to buy the book “The Shining” by Stephen King. Every morning, before going to work at an early age, I would stare at the book on the shelf. That changed my life.
How did Stephen King inspire you to start writing? Which is your favorite novel written by him?
My first book bought with my own money. Flight to name “The Shining”. It is my favorite novel and its reading was the beginning of my long career as a writer. I wanted to be like my favorite author. The only one I’ve read so far.
How did you end up being the author of the biography of his first stage as a writer?
I always wanted to know everything about the life of Stephen King. So I studied it thoroughly. Each new novel. Each new movie. He even bought his newspaper called Castle Rock. Then the internet came and I was able to access its website. His first stage as a writer is the best. The one that left the most impression on me. To me and everyone. From the stories of “Night Shift”, Carrie, Salem’s lot to Christine, Pet sematary or The cycle of the werewolf. He was an authentic narrator of very original stories. his last name King consolidates it. His books published as Richard Bachman were also very good.
Why did you choose to write anthologies and horror novels, suspense and thrillers?
It is difficult to answer this. Since I was little I always liked these themes. It’s the best I know how to do.
How hard was it to sit down and actually start writing the “Infected, Zombie The City of the Zol”?
Oh no. It was not difficult to write this book. I always liked the zombie theme and I needed to write something about them. It was very fun to write it, but it’s very scary.
Is there anything you find particularly challenging while writing suspense and horror? What are the ethics of writing horror stories?
The most difficult thing is to transmit the fear to the reader. And terror or horror has elements that can make it possible. I always rely on the wickedness of the human mind to be scary. They are much worse than the monsters that live under the bed or in the closet.
How hard is it to establish and maintain a career in fiction writing? Why did you choose this route?
Yes. It’s really hard to stay on top of this topic. Everything is constancy and illusion. I write for me Thats the secret.
How did you come up with the idea for your book, KARNOS? What is the main thing you want readers to take away from your book?
I’m a fan of the Lord of the rings and the orcs. I saw the cover and I fell in love with it. I knew I had to write something with those orcs. That easy. I have always been impressed by these types of beings.
If your novel, The cold winter were being made into a movie, whom would you pick to play the lead roles? How did you come up with the title of the book?
It is difficult to choose a protagonist, because those I love are no longer among us. Although I do not doubt the ability of young actors. The idea occurred to me remembering the dead zone of Stephen King.
What is the one thing about being a writer that you absolutely love?
Constancy, enjoy writing and love for this profession.
What about the character of Sheriff Burt in ‘Rainy Fall’ do you find the most attractive?
Burt Duchamp is a character typical of the Stephen King stories. A useless within the law and always drunk. He is a perfect character.
